Georgia State University is a leading research university committed to providing our students with an affordable education in a stimulating academic environment. We want our students to achieve their academic, and career goals and do what we can to make it possible.
The Byrdine F. Lewis College of Nursing and Health Professions is committed to producing the next generation of clinicians and scholars who will positively impact healthcare environments.
Lewis College has 85% female students and 74% minority students. The school has bachelor's degree programs in Nursing, Nutrition, Respiratory Therapy, Rehabilitation Sciences, and Health Informatics. Students who’ve majored in these degree programs usually work as Physical Therapists, Clinical Research Associates, or Care Directors.
As a student, you will receive hands-on training that'll prepare you for success while providing health care to Atlanta’s underserved communities.
We don't expect you to have it all figured out, we're here to help you navigate this new chapter of your life. If you're on campus, take advantage of University Career Services where you can get hands-on support, like career counseling and mock interviews. If you're virtual, we offer online resources like College to Career which aims to help students build their career path, and Handshake, a website that helps college students find internships and jobs.
Georgia State transforms the lives of our students, we advance the frontiers of knowledge and shape future leaders. We have curated a welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds and we will continue to promote diversity and inclusion for all. We’ve told you everything you need to know about us and now the decision is yours. The next four years will be both the most important and best years of your life. We’re happy to welcome you to GSU and hope you will make your journey with us. See you in the fall!
